Does anybody who has an e30 with an Auxiliary fusebox have a picture of it for me? I'm trying to figure out if they had bullet fuses or toothed fuses. The part number for the e28 and e30 aux fusebox is the same so I think it had bullet fuses in it. Can anybody confirm this for me? I'm going to be integrating this soon...

they have both.
early models had the older cylindrical fuses. this style has the black plastic base with the transparent blue cover that screws in the middle and held only 2 fuses. also, this one has two positions/connectors. one was a metal fork that would fasten it to the bolt that holds the fuse box down while the other has a slotted base that slides into one of the grooves on the fusebox its self.
late models had the blade type aux fuse box that could hold up to 4 extra fuses. this aux box is all black plastic.
i have both types for the early on my e30. i can try to get better pictures tomorrow.

Are you changing the chassis side wiring? I am not familiar with auxiliary fusebox, what is that for?Last edited by Jean; 09-08-2009, 06:38 AM.Mtech1 v8 build thread - https://www.r3vlimited.com/board/sho...d.php?t=413205

Has two bullet fuses (came on e30's and e28's) and they were left blank, but if when somebody bought an e30 and decided they wanted to add an accessory (like heated seats, or something their car didn't come with), it leaves the men at the dealer installing the accessory a simple and dedicated spot to wire it into. One bullet fuse is wired to hot all the time, and the other is hot on ignition. I may be using it if I decide to use an electric fan, if not, it will be reserved for the next "accessory" I add. Plus it looks cool when it's new and shiney! It's the same blue see through plastic as the main fuse box cover. And I ordered mine new... all part of the engine bay makeover I'm doing.

Interesting... just checked out the part numbers.
Turns out you're right in a way. The style with the bullet fuses came on early e30's and all e28's. It has the blue clear housing like the main fusebox. These only had bullet fuses. Late e30's had an aux fusebox, however it was all black and only came in tooth fuses. Didn't know this!
