How do I check for power at the ECU?

You need the wiring diagrams for the car, which can be found at http://wedophones.com/BMWManualsLead.htm
Identify the pins of the DME that get get power and use a multi-meter or test light to see if power is present when it should be.The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
