problem starting the car

it will take aproxx. 3 times to start the car. I have a new starter that was installed in march and spark plugs. But the car sound like something spinning. the car will crank alil then that sound will come on then the 3rd time it will start straight up. Any suggestions?

is your battery fully charged? how about the alternator? did you check all the wires when you replaced the starter to make sure everything was put back properly? a loose wire can make things like these happen.
if not check your key switch, maybe is going bad.

Are you saying that you hear something spinning, but the engine isn't cranking over? If that is the case the starter is the prime suspect.
