some help with a "hardware" type question

just got my m30 head done and im replacing the intake and exhaust studs. I was wondering if anyone out there has any educated insight on the option of replacing the studs with bolts.

already found candidates for the intake side, but its the exhaust side im worried about; high temps, frequest expansion/contraction, etc.

what metal finish should i look for, coating, treatment, or should i not do it at all

i figure to go with a heat treated + zinc coat but i dont know and the search hasnt help me much.

    thanks for any ideas

You can replace the studs with bolts and if you do it doesn't much matter what you use as long as they are the correct length. Studs d make it easier to attach the headers or intake manifold. If you use bolts you'll have to juggle the header or intake, the gasket, and the bolts.

I like studs and I'll liberally use a high temp anti-sieze on them. For the exhaust headers I always use new OE self locking nuts.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
