    car sputters when cold

i just recently bought a 88 325 (plain no letters) the car runs and drives great, except when its cold. when accelerating it sputters a bit, when at steady speed it's fine. what could this be?

Could be ignition wires. How old are the car's spark plugs/wires/ignition coil/dist. cap and rotor?

honestly, i don't know. i planned on doing a complete tune up after x-mas. why only when it's cold though, as soon as the needle gets to operating temp. it runs fine?

Hmmm... my new E30 experiences that somewhat too. I just shrug it off and don't expect 15 year old engines to run perfect at all times.

My engine does this too. It doesnt run that great when its cold but once its warmed up it runs fine. What could the problem be?
