So I'm putting a new muffler on my 325ix. Pain in the ass as we know working the cat to muffler bolts. Anycase, I get them off and the right side on the catalytic flange just crumbles to dust. After 246,xxx miles she bit the big one. Problem is how do you get a new flange on the right side of the cat over the flare on the pipe? Getting a new cat is craaaaazy at this point. I thought of flattening the right side cat flair and make a duplicate set up as used on the left side with the bigger gasket. Any one try that or have a split flange then can sllde over the right side of the flaired pipe? Any input is greatly appreciated.
