173 and 380 DME

    173 and 380 DME

    I own 2 89 coupes, the white one has a 173 and the delphin has a 380
    I swaped the dme and the delphin is working pefectly with the 173
    but the alpine idles like shit and stalls with the 380
    Is this normal?
    since the 173 is chipped can i just swap the chip to the 380?

    That's not normal. My guess would be that some sensor in the alpine is a little out of whack or there are intake leaks on that motor.
    The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

      how long did you run the 380 it takes a while for the computer to get adjusted

        today is the second day running it, i was just driving it and it seems like it got alot better.

          Yea it takes some time and driving to get everything adjusted, and no you cant change the chip from one to another, the chip was made for one specific ECU and can't be interchanged if im understanding you correctly.

            The 380 is just a later version of the 173 with more fault codes iirc, and yes a 173 chip works in a 380 I can attest to this since I have a mark D 173 91 oct 19lb chip in my 380 dme as we speak
