Engine cutting out when cornering in low gear

By cutting out I mean the engine almost dies and it feels like someones slamming on the brakes for a second. I've had this problem for almost 8 months now except it's always changing. Started with just cutting out in hard acceleration. Then I swapped ECUs and it went away for maybe 3-4 months. Then came back doing the same thing.

Currently its progressed to only happening in low gear turns when I give it some gas and go above 3k or so :( Any ideas?

Bump. can anyone help? Today I went on a test drive with a mechanic while my friend was checking out an e36 at this shop and the car completely died on a roundabout. It took about 20 minutes before it would start and then died again while going straight about 3 block away. Ended up driving it home since it seemed to be running fine now and I I had to get back home but now it happens all the time and I have to let the car sit for at least 10 minutes before it'll start again.

Will test the fuel delivery today. Already tried replacing the filter.

And sorry for being a noob but what is a cps?

And thanks for the help. Really need to get this problem fixed but my dads mechanic is out of town and I can't afford to take it to a shop right now.

you sure it was the o2 sensor heater relay? i don't think the o2 heater relay would cause this.

You know that's what I thought but I took it for a good hour test drive and everything went smoothly. Also wiggled it loose while the car was idling and it seemed to make the engine run the same way it was before until it died. Not really sure how it can cause the cornering problem though...

That condition can be caused by rust in the gas tank. Under cornering loads the fuel sloshes and stirs up the sediment, which then collects on the pump intake screen and chokes off flow. When you stop the car and let it sit the sediment will fall off the screen and settle to the bottom on the tank, where it doesn't cause a problem.

Pull the sensors and use a stick to stir the bottom of the tank. If there is a layer of sediment you'll feel it. The fix for this problem is a new tank or acid cleaning and sealing the tank you have.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Well what do you know... I guess they were separate issues as it just happened twice these past few days. Only happens with straight line hard acceleration now and only cuts out for a second.
