E brake hande won't go down

Has anyone had this problem. Apparently on the M3 back home the ebrake will not go down. It is in the full up position.

any suggestions welcome.

Does the button press in at all?
Does it go back any further?
Is it because the wranchet is stuck?

pull up hard while trying to press the button in. that should work unless you mean something different.

my 85 318i did that, on the side of the assmble once you pull the rear center consule off, there is a metal tab that got bent inward and jambed the e-rake lever into place. Not sure if it's your problem, or maybe the shoes have seized in the rear.

Here is a picture of the tab, on my 318i it got bent and cuaght under the screw for the parking brake light in the cluster. Once bent back it worked fine.
