    Benefits to using e36 tierods

Are there any benefits to using e36 tie-rods vs e30 ones? I'm thinking about doing the e36 rack swap and am planning on replacing tie-rods @ the same time.

Not really. If you want to get technical, I think you get better wheel-to-tie-rod clearance, but that was never an issue anyway.

no difference except a possible price difference and you need to run a 15" wheel.

Same thing, just the e36 tie rod ends are beefier.

          Build, break, repair, repeat.

I've got E36 tie rods and I've only got 14s.

I installed a 95 m3 rack complete with 95 m3 tie rods and I couldn't get the alignment in spec, whole assembly was too long even with both rods adjusted as short as I could make em, wheels were toed out no matter what I did. Put e30 ends in and it's pretty much as short as they'll go but it is in spec with a tiny bit of adjustment left and I mean tiny. Not sure if it's a 95 rack specific thing but don't throw away your e30 ends expecting the e36 ones to be foolproof if you're doing a rack swap

ive done the e36 rack swap before using the e36 tie-rods and all from the same cars, never had problems. not M racks though, i dont know the differences off hand. i would use the tie rods that go with the rack. why not?
