    M42 flywheel upgrade using M20 flywheel Q

How do I take off the pinion from a M20 starter motor and put it onto a M42 starter without destroying the starter?

Also, how much does the driveline chatter at cruising speeds after the modification? Does the sprung M20 clutch absorb most of the vibrations?

C'mon, has anyone even done this supposed dual mass to single mass flywheel swap?

At Black Forest Industries we manufacture performance parts for your VW / Volkswagen, Audi, BMW, Porsche, and Mini but we also provide maintenance repair parts as well. Keep your ride on the road, make it faster, or make it look better than it did on the showroom floor!

Sorry, quick question: How much was it, roughly for you to purchase all the parts for the M20 flywheel swap? (Probably used?)

I did it all a while ago. I used the black forest article. I got the clutch/flywheel for free, the t o bearing was 40 bucks from bma and the pinion gear was 20 orso. make sure that you get new flywheel bolts, i didnt think of it and it delayed the project a couple of days.

other than that i didnt run into any other problems. pm me if you have more questions

Take it to West Coast Starter / Alternator. Have them do it.
