Where to send oil for analysis?

I just did my first oil change on the rebuilt engine and saved the quart of oil. Anybody have recommendations on oil analysis companies? How would you even ship oil since IIRC usps and fedex won't accept this kind of package?

Google search brings lots of results, but I am looking for a recommendation based on previous experience.

Pretty much I am curious what the results look like..

    Thanks

Blackstone labs is a good choice. Only a small sample is needed for an analysis, and that can be shipped.

I'd run the engine long enough to get it broken in before doing an oil analysis. The first sample will always show metal in the oil as the bearings and rings wear in.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Thank you! Depending on the price maybe I'll do one now and another one a little later.

wow you are pretty thorough doing a SOAP test on your engine what does that cost anyways? you know I've heard of this being done on gas turbine engines in large passenger jets, never knew anybody bothered to do it to their cars though.

are you just doing the standard oil test? $22.50 doesn't seem too bad especially compared to the price of a new engine.

Good friend and oil nut swears by them. Last one he did cost about $60 but he got enough of a service that he thought it was worth it. Terry Dyson even records an mp3 explaining your results, what they mean and what he recommends. I'd probably wait until the next one or two changes to get it analyzed.
