    Electrical help ( Fuse #10 )

    Hey guys, what's up?

Here's the deal, I keep burning the fucking 7.5V fuse #10 that controls my heater controls and my instrument cluster. I have no idea why but I've already gone through 3 of them in 2 days and I dont intend to keep working it this way.

I am an electrical noob so any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Erick

is that the correct amperage fuse?
Any other things on that circuit? Any work done in that area recently?

reverse light switch harness in the transmission tunnel shorting out is the #1 cause of fuse #10 popping.

Bingo, that could very well be it. My P.O. ghetto wired that harness and as you are aware, it's not an easy task to get in there to replace the wiring. My reverse lights havent worked for the past months when the tape holding the wires together fell off. However this burning of the fuse thing only started this week.

Oh well.... I guess I gotta fix that now.

Its not hard to change... It's really not.

The only tough part is reaching the switch with your hands to put the new connectors on.

I made a new harness myself, with shielded cable. It could rub on the driveshaft for months before wearing through. Not that it could, as its made to be a proper length, and secured to the shifter carrier.

Exatcly..... I have big ass hands

Trust me, I have a new reverse light switch and everything. The only bitch is reaching the bastard switch with these big ass hands. For now I'm just thinking of ghetto rigging both ends of the cable with an "extension cable" connecting both ends of the 2 wires with an extra cable and I'll tape the extra wiring to the chassis so it doesnt hang.

I'm going to have to replace my flex disc again sometime in the next couple of months as this shitty one didnt last me a semester. When I drop the driveshaft to change the CSB/Flex Disc, I'll unbolt the tranny mounts and lower the tranny on a jack so it gives me some more space to work on. It should be a piece of cake then.

Try disconnecting the reverse light switch connector under the shift boot. I had the exact same problem in my car. If a fuse is constantly burning out, that means you have a short. Whatever you do, don't try and fix it by putting a higher amperage fuse in there.

EDIT: If you tearing through flex discs that quickly, you most likely have another problem. Is there any vibration under acceleration?
