Putting power to injector for deeper cleaning.

I am rebuilding and cleaning my injectors according to http://www.rowand.net/shop/Tech/DIYF...orCleaning.htm . I thought about doing my own e30 write up for r3v but before I can do that I must first finish. All I have left is to clean out the inside with compressed air while putting power to the injector. I cut off a spare harness and now I have a red/white and a brown/white wire. Can I hook up the injector straight to 12 volts with a switch? Can they handle that power or do I need a resistor? Which wire is hot and which is ground (I assume red/white is power but I don't want to make a costly mistake based on an assumption). oh yeah the wires are also numbered 1&2.

I couldn't find anything on this in the search, do you think a write up is in order?
West German BMWs, they just don't make the same as they did before the wall fell.

I believe you can overheat them with straight 12v and no fuel. I think I have heard people using a 9v battery, would make it easier to work with and less voltage.

So red/white wire to postive? Brown/White to ground? Seems obvious but I don't want to screw the injector up.

EDIT: I've looked through the entire bentley manual and I can't find a wire guide for fuel injection. Grrr.

Oh yeah and I also looked and all 6 injectors have a red/white wire but 3 injectors have a brown/yellow and 3 have a brown/white. Maybe that helps.

UPDATE: Pretty sure the red/white wire is positive. Hooked it up to a 9v battery. All the injectors squirted pretty good except for one. It is clicking but not letting air pass through. Hmmm bad injector maybe?

it shouldn't matter which way you wire it, all you are activating is a small electromagnet
