    M42 ECU Throws F.C. 1215 - Air Mass/Volume Sensor, now what?

Tara's (Tara 318iS) dad attempted to install a new air filter in her car. Somehow, he messed it up.

The car now stalls while driving (even in 3rd), idles poorly, and the check engine light is on (obviously thats how I pulled the fault code).

So, all the connections seem secure, I disconnected/reconnected them all. I was thinking that perhaps because the old air filter was so clogged, the ECU had changed the fuel mixture based on that amount of airflow, and now with a ton more air coming in the car would be running lean. So, we disconnected the battery overnight to reset the ECU. Still, no dice.

    Idears?

    Check wires to AFM
    Check wires to the TPS

My TPS wires were frayed at the connector... and threw a code for AFM and TPS....if you have access to another AFM, try it out....if it is bad indeed....ahem I have a used one for sale since my problem was with the TPS and not the AFM.

$10 says its a vacuum leak. check the hose that goes into the bottom side of the Intake boot between the TB and AFM....

This happened on mine after I changed my air filter; a breather hose disconnected.

                And the winner is....

                Mr. Maybach!

As soon as I saw it in some real light, sure enough, that little hose behind the airbox was popped out.

                Cheers.

Sweet. That hose is easy to dislodge when messing with the airbox lid.
