things to look at for overheating:
-themostat
-waterpump
-clogged radiator
-air pocket in cooling system (unlikely in this case it seems)
-fan/ fan clutch
if you do get the thermostat replaced, change over to the upgraded thermostat housing if it hasn't been done already... my uncle's old-style one actually had a part fly out cause it was pressed in, but the new one fixes that issue.
