    One last DME question

From what I've been told, ALL of the silver label DME's will not work because of EWS. A guy contacted me about a '95 that he has. He said it should be fine, and that he knows for a fact that his car does not have EWS. He said that "not all silver label 413's have EWS". Is it possible to make this one work without the EWS disabling chip? Will a chip (stock or aftermarket) from a red label 413 work in a silver one?

does your motor work already? If so, don't fuck with it.
chips from other computers generally won't work. Almost all silver labels have EWS, though there are some out there that don't have it, but don't bank on that being true for you, unless it's readily disposable to you

Silver label 413 ones come with EWS. The 250 chip can disable it, i know because that is what I am running. If you want I can sell you my chip for less because I need a new one anyway. I need one mapped for some mods that I didnt have when I did the swap.
      Im now E30less.

That's correct, the silver/grey 413 DME's all have EWS. But it can be disabled. I developed a performance chip that disables the EWS. I even have one that runs a 3.2l M3 motor with an EWS 413 DME. What are the new mods you did that require a re-map?

Ryan, I'm interested if it turns out to have EWS.
BTW, I did some homework. If a '95 M3 has a production date of earlier than 1/95, it will not have EWS. Apparently that's what this one is out of. I'll give it a shot.

Yes if it was made in 1994 you should be fine. It shouldnt be a silver label 413 though, should be red.
