1264 Error code - EGO Heater

Not the first time I bet.

I got this 1264 code when I went to fetch my car at the garage. The only thing they did is to change the fuel line going to the fuel rail. Strange.

I did my little research on the subject and I started to diagnose myself.

The relays are fine, I even switched them to see, no difference. My idle is perfect, no trouble there. I looked for any leaks and I didn't find anything conclusive. The only thing left, the O2!?

How the O2 heating system can affect the drivability? It seems that my car is somehow in a better shape since then.

What else could it be and should I change my O2?

    Thanks.

O2 heater allows the car to enter closed loop faster.

Won't really affect drivability, mostly an emissions issue.

A new 02 should fix the problem.

Everything seem to be in order now, except my idle is a bit rubbish, but no more 1264 code. I presume, the ECU needs to adapt itself once again.

I'll do more tests and I'll come back to you guys. It seems the problem is solved.

The 1264 code came back. I really think that I'll change my O2 sensor. I hope it will solve the problem.

Check fuse 9 if you haven't already.

I'm not sure that a 1264 code is from the sensor directly. I sort of think it is from the control circuit for the heater relay. That said the O2 sensor is ascheduled maintenance item with a useful life of not more than 100k. So if that applies, a new sensor is needed.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
