    Broken hood cable?

OK my hood latch-the interior piece you pull to open your hood- had a screw pop out, unknown to me. so when I pulled the latch, it mangled the cable. now I can't get the hood open. I took the latch off, pulled the cable from the latch, and tried pulling the cable with pliers, and it doesn't work. it's so cold out there I can't sit out there and look at it at all, and my dad's car is in storage in the garage so I can't pull in anywhere to check it out.

    any suggestions?

In the grill to the left of the driver's side headlights, there's a hole you can stick a screwdriver in and trip the latch.

what if you did that trick one too many times and now the latching mechanism is broken and the hood won't close causing you to drive 25 miles home with the hood popped open? :curse:

My hood latch is broken too...I just tug hard on the broken piece...if you don't tug hard enough, it will not work.

With my euro grilles, the slats are positioned such that opening the hood from the mechanism directly has to be done from an angle
