    Gearshift Bitch Clip Tip.

Bend a screwdriver into a "U". It pops it right open. No more scarred fingertips. Drop the Trans brace first of course.

It was my understanding that the bitch clip is the circlip on the selector rod after it goes through the knuckle on the transmission, not the carrier clip.

I'm a moron, but how does a bolt really make it any easier? Its not like there's a ton of room up there for a wrench or ratchet or whatever...

Don't bother bending a screwdriver, look no further than this post. Few bucks.

I can see the bolt possibly working as it won't be as tough and out-of-the-way. But then again I've never had to deal with the bitch clip in the car and I don't think I'm ever going to do so.

I have a large pick, it didnt work too well. My best tool was my 3 foot pry bar, brute force always wins. Especially with the bitch clip. Destroy that thing!

i could take that bad boy out in 5 minutes, after my ordeal with that little bastard, i replaced it with a stainless steel bolt and nut, so much easier, as I already took it off again to swap my bushings to my new car.

I don't know why everyone has such a hard time with it. I've done it 2-3 times now with a stubby screwdriver to get it started. Takes me just a few minutes...

Just did this yesterday. Unbolted the tranny brace, jacked up the motor a few inches to tilt the tranny down, and had plenty of room to do the deed.
