    Electrical Voltage Regulator 16.5 V

    Hey Guys,

Have not posted in a while but keep reading posts to stay in touch.
My 93 convertible started acting up a bit latelely. Two weeks ago I noticed that my lights would get brighter when I accelereate so I thought my alternator was going on me. Well this is a rebiult I picked up throught the forum so I thought a year is all I was getting out of it. Now it started to first blow my left fog light, then the interior cortesy light, then the insutrment lower panel is dead an last when I turned on my lights I watched as my right headlight blew on me????? So today I tested the voltage at the battery when my son started her up and it read 16.5 volts!!! So I guess it's the voltage regulator? Can I just replace the regulator, will my cluster lower lights be blown, did I damage my cluster? I checked my fuses and they are all ok but my electric mirrors are not working either. Help!!!

Replace the voltage regulator. It's not cutting off the battery charge circuit and overcharging your battery, as well as overvolting the entire system. You might want to discharge the battery before using it again, too.
