    Replacing Drivers Seat Cable...

Since I've had my car, the driver’s seat cable has been disconnected. The cable is snapped and needs replacing. As I was cleaning my interior I thought I would take a look at it. I removed the side cover near the seat adjustment levers to see where the cable would connect to. Then I removed the two screws holding the rear plastic cover of the seat on....when I hit a snag. The side lever, facing the driver’s side door is keeping me from taking the entire rear plastic cover off. I don't want to start yanking or tugging at it until I know for sure. I can feel that it is fragile; there must be a way to take it off so I can gain access to replacing the cable. Any help is much appreciated.

You are referring to the plastic handle that lets the seat fold correct? It should just slide off of the metal lever it is on. You do have to pull pretty hard though. I took my seat apart alittle bit ago and that is how i got it off.

Yank them off. I used a large screwdriver to "coax" them out. You don't want to scratch the plastic, or worse, the leather. The plastic surrounds are held in by a clip on the bottom. Pry that out with a screwdriver. Don't pry from the top.

i had to do that before...
it was kinda a pain finding all the parts but not to hard. what i did was bend the little peice of metal that is attached at the top to the lever, then run some 18 gague wire from top to bottom. i used a yellow/large circle connecter at the bottom

it takes a little time and common sence...i just ghetto rigged it, but it has been going strong for 8 monthes

it is a hard peice to get to stay on afterwords...i have had constant trouble with it. there are male and female ends at the bottom, i used a really small screwdriver, you have to be forceful, yet gentil
