Replacement for M42 Engine mount

What's good to replace the standard M42 engine mount...

I remember in the E3S forum, it was mentioned the mount from the E28 can be used...

Can someone shed some light here...

I just heard somewhere of swapping an M5 mounts into an E30,
guess they're cross compatible but I"m not sure. If anyone else
has heard this I'd like the 411 on it. Probably be good for High
Horse High Torque engines.

The M5 you're referring to is the E28 M5???

Tell you the truth, I'm not sure if they where E28's or newer that
they were talking about. I wish I remember where I read that now.

I doubt they are e34 M5 motor mounts, as they were liquid filled rubber mounts, and were known all to well for poping weekly on cars driven by enthusiests.

Just curious, are the any aftermarket engine mountings for the E30 M42???

I enquired about the E28 mounts, and they are USD 30+ per piece...
Are there any aftermarket mounts, probably PU and how much would they cost?

BTW, me from Malaysia and would be getting the stuff thru Franklin of UDMmotorsports....

make youre own poly mounts from 3m polyurethane window weld.

there's an article on it here. it's not a bmw mount, but I'm sure you can figure out a way to make one.

don't know how well it'll work for E30's since the mounts are a little differrent though

Are these direct replacement motor mounts for the M42?

Any particular difference in feel and durability?

thats a good idea with the poly stuff, the mount inserts for honda mounts are basically the same thing functionality
