    Where is it coming from?

    crosspost:

Ok, so two days ago, I noticed a HUGE puddle of water in my back passenger side floor board. Cursing and swearing thinking my buddy dumped his 6L jug of OJ all over the floor, I begin to clean it out. I have the carpet jacket up and a sponge on the floor to soak up the remainder dripping out of the soaked carpet. Yet even today I drained the sponge twice in 3 hrs to find it just keeps coming. Did I have a waterbottle or OJ container dump out and TOTALLY soak it, or do I have a leak somewhere on the right side of the car. All else is bone dry. Is there a drian in the B-pillar thats clogged or what?

    ARGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!

doesn't the drain run down the driver side? that might be plugged causing it to get your floorboard wet

Is it raining outside? There is no place in the car that would be holding all this water and then come out an try to fuck with you. Sounds to me like someone spilled water in there. The carpet will suck up a ton of water and will be wet and dripping for a while.

The best bet is to put a fan to blow under the carpet and also try to squeeze out the water by putting pressure down on the carpet with towels under it to soak it up.

Also, the sun roof drains go to the front on the car down the A pillars, so that could not be it.

          Leaks

Check outside door lower window molding, I used to get a lot of water due to dry rotted weather stripping. Also check back window latches that they are adjusted thight by spraying a hose on the window. Check that your door weatherstripping, might be loose or dry rotted, I changed all my weatherstripping a year ago and I have no leaks any where.

I had a leak on the passenger side of the car in my first E30. It turned out to be the bulkhead seal between the heater core box and the firewall.

There are drain tubes on all 4 corners of the roof for the sunroof. The sunroof can and will leak. If your drains are clogged, you get water in the interior.

you can run a piece of stiff wire through the drains to try and unclog them

i dont know where the rear sunroof drains are...i got the front ones.

                  car is a 4 door.

and its pissing like a MOFO outside. in other news, that rain is equalling tonnes of snow in whistler. We have had half of last years cumulative snowfall already in the month of november

should have paid attention lol i thought the puddle was behind the driver seat. but if all four corners hae drains then it could still be that issue

problem solved. I was running a Thule roof rack for my skis.

the rain gutter clamp wasnt working with the door seals too well. it was allowing water to get in the top of the door, run down the side and pool on the floor...
