    HELP bad compression test

    i have a 88 325is with 280k miles and it run good but it stumbles at idle and even when its hot it seems to get worse when its hot it feels like it is misfireing but it revs fine

    today id did a compression test and the results were

    1 = 120psi
    2 = 120psi
    3 = 130psi
    4 = 130psi
    5 = 130psi
    6 = 120psi

    i need help i dont know what to do or if i should just leave it alone or start looking for a new m20 and it has a bad valve tick and needs a timing belt is it worth doing the work and spending the money or should i just get a used motor

    and how much do they run
    i know a place in sac called attarco that my uncle got his m20 but i dont remeber how much ill call today

    lol... those compression numbers are fine for a 280k motor.

    Pay someone to adjust your valves and change your timing belt... it will cost like $300.

      Dont listen to Jordan. Those numbers are far too low. You need to buy my M20 ;)

          Most competent shops can adjust valve lash and change timing belts.
