i took the backing off the seat and i held it while my dad tried to bend it back.Iit didnt move. my dad is no weakling either. hes pertty strong casue he used to work out like mad and play rugby. he was asked to be on the team in the old peoples olympics when it was in portland. How many of you have straightened a bent seat frame? go get a metal pipe and try to bend it

I wouldnt heat it up. It changes the properties of the metal.

It is most likely broken at the hinge. Mine was the same way as yours. Pulled it apart. The seat frame was broken at one of the upper spring mounting points. Bent it back and welded it with a reinforcing plate. Still crooked just less so than before, because of faulty hinge. I figured the best solution is to save up for aftermarket seats. The stock seats are not very robust on these cars.

hey, anyone want to help explain how to fix this?

a pal just decided the way to have the seat go forward was ignoring the lever completely and just pushing on it. fucking dumbass.

e30 seats are simple to dismantle.

once taken apart and examined, faults are easy to locate and fix.

A frame bolster had separated on one of my seats.

My old sport seats made my back hurt whenever I would be in the car for long periods of time. They made me hate driving the car. They were so bent, broke, and twisted that I just gave them away and got Corbeaus. Much better.
