Ok fellas,
My car over heated about 2 years ago. I replaced the water pump, fan clutch, fan,
thermostat and not to mention a couple of hoses. When I did this for the next month I had this creamy stuff in my coolant that I understand to be a head gasket failure. The problem went away, so I didn't worry about it anymore.
The other day my temperature needle starts getting past the half and continues to about 3/4. I didn't want to find out how far it would go so I pulled over and let it cool down.
My coolant light comes on, I top off the coolant and try her again. Not more than a few minutes down the line, there it goes again.
I got her home driving in little bits and pieces. When I got home there was steam coming out of the thermostat housing, and the whole way home my heater would only blow cold air.
I replaced the thermostat and gasket, bleed the system, but it's still doing the same.
I run her for a few minutes, she starts to get warm, the coolant is warm and so are the hoses, the radiator is cold and the expansion tank is cold, but the needle still shows like it's over heating.
Is there a temperature sensor some where that could be causing this? What about my heater?
