    ICV = No power

    87 325e

I checked the voltage and tried a test light on the connector that goes into the ICV. I am not getting power to it. Could this be TPS? Fuse? Please help.

    Thanks.

I put it in and it didnt help my idle. Im thinking of just doing a budget stroker with new sensors, etc and going from there. I have a lot of the parts anyway.

      Have:
      i Wiring Harness
      i Instrument Cluster
      i ECU 173?
      i Intake Manifold
      i Throttle Body
      i Injectors
      i FPR
      i Fuel Rail

Where in Milwaukee are you? Me and Digital_cowboy are in Riverwest...

I might have some parts we can plug in and try...

What are you trying to diagnose? Have you done the pedal stomp test to see if you're running a codes?

Have you checked fuse #9? In my case that's what I was missing.

Motronic 1.0 does not have the stomp test. :(

I will check fuse 9 right now. Hopefully thats my issue.

replace the connector, they can easily get corroded and not transfer any current. Try it by just holding the bare wires to the icv and if the idle is steady then you know that's it.

I believe this car has the ICV controlled by an idle control module. Failure of that part isn't uncommon.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Ive decided to just get the rest of the parts I need for a stroker. That way I will just be replacing all the connectors, icv, afm, and dont need an ICM. Also the hoses and gaskets in case its a vacuum leak.

I am pretty sure either yberther or jlevie is correct though for anyone else with a similar issue. Seems like a typical problem.

                      Thanks!!!

                        FIXED FIXED FIXED FIXED

It was my ICM in the glove box.
