    Urgent: Thermostat housing nuts, size/threading

I cannot find one of the nuts that holds the thermostat housing to the head. I have the bottom one on, (there are only two) and it is a 12mm nut with unknown threading. The problem is i cant find the upper one, and all the nuts ive tried on it dont fit....even the lower thermostat housing nut doesnt fit on it. Can someone check somehow?

If the lower nut doesnt fit on there then you have something else going on. Both nuts and washers from the housing plus all 12 of them on the intake manifold should all be the same.

It's an M8 with standard metric thread, 1.5 pitch I think, which is of course different from standard american thread.

Common sense- It's the new 'gifted'

damnit the nuts just wont go on the stud, i dont know what the fucking problem is. It doesnt looked damaged, the threads look fine....but when i put the nut up to the stud on a rachet, it just doesnt thread on, it just spins
