    Alpina LSD?

Any chance anyone knows, or perhaps some of the English or European members know how to identify an Alpina LSD?

I just replaced my 3.73 LSD w/ a 3.64 unit and was told that it was an Alpina w/ 40% lock......so any advice would help. Is there a way to check the amount of lock short of taking it apart?

Reason for replacing was really just to lengthen first gear.........it was mad short w/ the 3.0L stroker and Getrag 240 (E30 320i gearbox). It's much better now :)

    Thanks!

If there's nothing on the outside, I guess you could just take the cover off. It's really easy, you just have to get a new gasket. Nice E30.

      Thanks ;)

It's in a standard diff cover, marked normally S 3 6 4......but it's already on so no biggie. It's not really worth pulling off again.
