so the old addage, if something is going in the hydrllics, replace it all
weeks ago I replaced the slave cylinder and hose to my clutch
last night my clutch master took a piss, so bad I barely made it home
should have known better, years back when I used to sell english car parts, we would tell people, the same thing, if your slave is leaking, rebuild the master too, they would not , weeks later we would sell them a master kit, they would be pissed and moan about english cars
same wiht brakes, rebuild front calipers, rears are not far behind leaking, same ith e hoses, one brake hose leaking, rest might go soon.
a lot of that is due to age, of course a lot of that , years back, was people using american petroleaum based brake fluid in cars desinged for vegitable based ( castrol was) and eating seals up ( hey castrol was a dollar or two more then cheap napa fluid was offen the reasoning)
I twisted wrenches on cars for a living, many of you do, and you know how hard it is to tell a person, well we can do it cheap or do it right, yes we can just put brushes in yoru alternator, but maybe we should rebuild the whole thing.... they go cheap....only for a few months later for a bearing to go and a cusotmoer to be pissed.at YOU
I know a lot of us are on budgets so we look to do things on the cheap, esp on our own cars....
but if you do go cheap on these cars, dont complain about reliability or breakdowns
( I guess thats what this is reallly what this thread is all about, since I often read threads about how unreilable the cars are)
ordered new master, plastic elbow and hose from resavior to master, wont have to worry anymore about clutch hydrallics for another 20 years
now for the next few days I get to drive the 8 mpg truck, and I put nearly 300 miles a week on a car/truck
........like I said ........I should have known better
spellin.....whats that.......hey its a forum,,, english majors back off
