    overhead lights when doors are open not working

    my overhead lights have never worked correctly, and i want to fix them. heres whats happening....


    driver side light turns on either way i flick the switch no matter the doors position.... when i press the button in the jam i hear the relay click, but the light does do anything. any solution?

    Take the lights out and clean all the contacts and the switches real well. I'm sure there is corrosion in there. Mine were pretty crusty and didn't work until
    I cleaned them.

      have fun.

      take out the drivers speaker panel, and the switch in the jamb.

      get out your bentley and multimeter and figure out how to pass the relay. I remember a bunch of confusing stuff in there and it was hard to get at.

      i have a convertible so im gonna say its a little different but probably not, i just dont remember what color wires went where and did what.

      or buy a new realy from george graves.

      find the 12v+ and trace it to your lights, then follow the ground back to the switch. simple as that i think...
