I know one way to tell is the SuperEta will have dual exhaust tips and the regular Eta will have a single tip.

The main difference on the outside of the engine is the fact that the itnake runners will be very long and skinny even more so then the 325e intake manifold. Also check the Tach the super eta cars all had 6k rpm tachs rather thenthe 5k rpm one.

regular eta's have a cold start valve + the ICV with the adjuster screw on the end

Super eta's have no cold start valve and the same type ICV as the "i" cars. Also have the pickup sensor mounted to the front lower left (facing the motor) of the timing cover- on the toothed wheel on the crank pulley- (regular eta's have the 2 sensors in the tranny bellhousing)

You will need to pull the motor to get the crank + pistons out. The pistons/rods will have to come out thru the top of the block- so if it's still got the head on it- that'll have to come off too!

The biggest challenge will probably be getting the front crank nut off in order to get the crank out- those are on there with some serious torque!

                  Bret.
