    broken shift console

so i finished changing the clutch in my eta today, and while i had it out, i found that the metal around the front two mounting holes on the sheet metal shift plate had sheared off completly. and the whole thing was just kinda holding itself on by pure bmw powered luck. my thinking is that it was slightly loose and repeated shifting of the spirited kind had broken it over time.

just curious if anyones ever seen this happen before. also, anyone know a good source for replacment. i fixed the problem by brazing two washers in place of the missing metal, but dont know how long it will hold up.

one last side note, if anyone needs a clutch replacment and is as broke as i am, a seller named newclutch on ebay is someone worth recomending. amazing customer service when handling any problems.

Your fix should last a long time. Maybe even longer that the original if the washers are thicker than the original metal. i wouldn't bother to replace the console with that fix in place.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
