cruise control not working, and 'Brake light' & 'Rear Lights' check panel lights on

Ok, im not sure if these 2 problems are related, but Ill post them anyways. Main problem is the cruise control. it doesn't work. Only things ive checked so far, are the #6 fuse and make sure the C.C cable isn't stuck (its not). Also, my 'Brake light' and 'Rear Lights' check panel lights are pretty much always stuck on. Any idea where I should start?

are your brake lights always on? Check the switches on the pedals.

Have you made a purchase from www.blunttech.com recently?

I just checked them now, and they were fine. But when i bought the car a few weeks ago, my mom mentioned that it looked as if the brake lights were on the entire drive home. So is it better to just get a new switch, or can this one be salvaged somehow? Do you know the part number?

if the brake or clutch switch is out, it will disconnect the cruise control (safety interrupt), Fix the lights and I bet the cruise fixes itself.

Thanks I found it, im driving a 90' 325i. Thing is, sometimes none of the check panel lights are on, yet the C.C still doesn't work. Does it sound like the switch could still be the problem?

all it takes is a momentary fault to kick off the cruise. also check the light connection for the 3rd brake light. that was causing my check panel to light up, cleaning the connections wont hurt anything, and may help
