are there LEDs in the dash and cluster? my friend on his mk3 swaped all the LEDs in his dash (heat controls,back lights for the cluster...etc)...thanks also if anyone has done this before....which i doubt...pics would be great

no, they're little bulbs. If you never want to replace any again, you can solder LEDs into each of the 40 some-odd bulb slots. They will be brighter (not something I'd want), and won't change the color (the color comes from the diffusers in the illuminating panels).

Im sure green plus the color diffusers would equal a weird color.

Theoritically couldn't you change/make new diffusers.

i guess so ill have my friend take a look at them...reason for me bringing this up is because my heat controls wont illuminate at night i seem to have blown the fuse or the blub....either way it will be fixed

it's 2 small bulbs behind the controls...take the panel off, locate them then replace them.
