I posted a thread awhile back about my car not starting. It wouldn't crank and I had just replaced the battery and when the car did run I was getting great voltage from the alt. Well the car started to work by itself again for a few months then wouldn't start at all. I took it to a friend of mine and we ended up running a ground strap to the top push on terminal of the starter (no idea what this is for, nothing was hooked up to it) and the car worked great for about a month or so.
Now the car is cutting in and out. You'll be driving on the road and then it feels like you're loosing power and you have to give the car full pedal to get it to go about 35. If you stop the car at this point it will die and you will not be able to start it. If you take the tire tool out of the back and lightly mess with the starter wires the car will start up but may die again later on.
Now my question is whats causing this? Also is the only linkage between the battery and the alternator at the starter?
