    Trunk Battery Ground

    Is this a good enough ground (mounted to the stud of the bumper shock against a painted surface).

    Did you at least sand away the paint?

        No. You need to sand/scrape away the paint so the battery cable contacts bare steel. Otherwise, you're not gonna get good contact.

            Same exact place i grounded mine. i didnt remove any paint and have been doing fine for about 6 months now, but it would be wise to remove the paint anyway.

              remove the paint and bolt it on. Then get some primer or even better you can get a clear polymer sealant that is easier to remove but still keeps moisture out of the metal. Spray that over the contact once you have it wrenched down. I did that to the ground from the S50 wiring harness.
              Im now E30less.
