Pretty sweet first post. Here we go:
Bought the car a couple weeks ago. The service indicator light on the cluster was tapped over. PO said the the PO before him had tapped it over since he didn't know how to reset it.
Well yesterday I decided to get the tape off and reset the indicator as per some instructions I found.
Heres where I fucked up. I mistook the (I'm assuming the C101 plug) that runs along the firewall for the diagnostic plug located beside the dip stick.
Found that information a little to late...
From what I can tell I connected pin 13 and pin 10 together on the C101 plug, and then pin 5 and pin 7 in another attempt to reset the light.
As far as I know:
Pin 5 = Oil Pressure
Pin 7 = Terminal 15 is not secured
Pin 10 = Oil level dynamically
Pin 13 = Electric Fuel Pump
I then realized I was at the incorrect plug. Found the diagnostic plug and successfully rested the service indicator. Got everything back together and now the car won't start..
Did I fry something in the ECU?
This is on a 1990 325iS
Thank
