    alignment specs!

ok everyone, i just put on new tires and the 95 m3 rack. heres what i got now.

While under the car on the lift with wheels loaded. i noticed the angle b/w the rack and the tie rods was not level. it looks like if the rack was sitting on top of the 1/2 spacers, it would be just right. however, there is only like 3/4 of an inch b/w the rack and oilpan. Im sure the lower springs have something to do with this..

Btw, i have HR sports for the cabrio everything else is stock.

    alignment was as follows.
    Front camber: -1.3 L -1.7 R
    Caster :8.1 8.1
    Toe : .15 L .16 R

    Rear camber : -1.7 L -1.8 R
    toe: -.03 L .04 R

A few questions.. Is the front Left camber b/c my strut bar is hard to put on, (Chassis Flex) and would camber plates be a decent solution? Do i need to worry about .4 degrees difference?

and the rear toe, does that look like RTAB or Subframe bushing wear?

    those numbers look ok?

Probably not, they dont flex that much, and not just on one side.

maybe, maybe not you need to check some other things first.

Hopefully RTABS. If not, bent trailing arm, but definitely not the subframe.

Not really. You need to check for a bent front strut. You do not know if the LF is bent positive, or if the RF is bent negative. What you do need to find out is if there is a difference in the gap between the tire and the strut on each side.

This will tell you what is bent.

cool. Thanks a whole lot for that reply!

it could be a bent strut, most of everything else that would matter is newish, including: control arms / bushing, tie rods, the upper strut mounts are old, but in decent shape. a little bit of some cracking but nothing ugly. i have new ones but i just dont want to go through all of that since they look decent enough.
I'll check the struts as soon as I get a chance. whats the easiest way, place to measure to.. am i going to a certain tread, or the outsidemost edge of the sidewall.. whats easiest/best? its cold and windy outside and my car is a little walk to get to.

None of the rear bushings have been replaced by me. thats my next project. a quick visual inspection today, well.. couldnt tell much. nothing looked too bad.
I could push the subframe, at the bushing, up and down a cm or so, is that normal?

could both the front left toe and camber differences have anything to do with each other, to a very small degree at least..?
