    Alternator question

I was taking the wires off of the alternator and when I went to wrench one of the nuts that holds one of the O-rings, the whole post turned instead of the top nut. Is the threaded post a hard attachment at the bottom? That is, did I beak something when the whole thing turned?

You may have broken the post attachment inside the regulator. A new regulator isn't a pricey item.

I looked in realoem and I couldn't find exactly what it was. The post was the largest one at the end of the group. I couldn't find the post or see where it attached in the altenator on the view of the individual parts.

The two posts that take wires on the alternator are part of the voltage regulator, which is why you don't see them as separate parts.
