Need quick help with instrument cluster

I'm replacing the gauge bulbs since one of them burned out (part number 2821 for the gauge lights, 2721 for the warning bulbs if anyone else needs them, ~ $2.50/2-pack of Sylvania/Osram at Autozone) and I made a little mistake. I pulled a connector out before I noted where it went back in. In the first pic is the connector on the back of the cluster (gauge faces facing down in the picture looking from the bottom) with the arrow pointing at one of the 3 possible places where it goes. The second pic is of the connector itself (Blue wire w/ green stripe)

Which of the 3 possible connectors does it go to and what's it for? I've checked my Bentley and couldn't find anything helpful.

If it fits in all 3, I would just take a guess and see what happens. Doubt you can hurt anything.

Put it in on the top right one (top of the right set of 3). That's where mine was plugged into today when I did my IC, and where I put it back.

As I recall that's the speed signal for the speedometer. I agree that it goes in the top right hole in your picture of the green connector.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Actually you can put it in any of the 3 holes. I broke the top hole while removing the cluster and to remedy the situation I took the circuit board out of the cluster to I could permantly solder it in place. When I did that I realized that all of the traces were connected together. My understanding is that the wire itself sends the signal from the speedo to the cruise control and any other device that needs to read the vehicle speed thus if there were other items on the better equipped cars that required a connection to the speedo, thats where it would tap into the system. And then the signal that feeds the speedo comes in through the blue connector.

Wow, thread from the dead. Very strange when you see a thread with your name on it that you don't remember starting...

Yeah that's what happens when an experienced memeber of another board joins another board like this and has to start from the beginning.

It's been great help though. Glad I was referring to this forum by someone on Bimmerforums.
