    More issues

Got more random issues with the m50 swap, and therefore more questions. So once in a while when i start the car up and try to go anywhere, it has no power and wont rev above 3k, much less move anywhere quickly. There are also popping noises from the headers when this happens, that sound the same as when my buddy had his timing 180 degrees off in his plymouth. But then ill shut it off and start it again, and more often than not it'll start just fine. Its done it a couple times just rolling down the road as well. Anybody wanna venture a guess? Also, do M50's run hotter than M20's? Sorry about the wordiness.

    Thanks,
    Jesse

A popping sound from the headers and the lack of performance until the car is shut off and restarted could be from the DME shutting down one or more cylinders as a result of misfires. The most common cause of that is an upset in the A/F ratio as a result of intake leaks. Have a smoke test run on the intake. Other possible causes should not be considered until it is proven that there are no intake leaks. An intake leak can result in the engine running hotter than it should be (running lean).
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
