    Water Pump problems

Ok , so I ran into a pretty big problem.
As I go to take the bolt off the water pump, I turn the wrench with jsut wrist power and the top ( and about 2 threads down) snapped off

As I pulled my hand away, it looked like this ( I don't know how this thing even worked)

What am I going to do? I got the rest of the bolts out fine, and on the other side of the water pump, the pipe connecting to it looked like this

I'm assuming this old POS is going to be siezed like hell.
Any ideas on how to deal with this? Can I drill out the old bolt?( pretty tight space for a drill)

I don't believe that there are any threads on the water pump itself, so pull, it off, put the new on and jbweld?
    Or simply drill and tap.

If there's any stud left you can try a small pipe wrench.

Mike, I removed a stripped stud for my water pump. Guess what I used...you guessed it...the all mighty dremel. I dremeled a slot in the end of the stud and used a flat head screw driver to back it out.

I need you to come over on Sat. I will PM you with details.

Woo Hoo! Got the water pump off with some muscle/ rubber malet and this is what was left......

I used a small pipe wrench ( thanks Jays323i ) to turn it out the rest of the way, saving my thread ! Now I just need to replace the stud and I'll be peicing everyhting back together.

make sure you replace all of the water pump studs. You don't want another breaking off when you wrench them down.

They arent studs, they are bolts. Clean the holes out with a tap and use new bolts.
