Plastic pieces on steering column on E30

What is the best way to take these off without breaking everything?

These are the two plastic pieces that are right behind the steering wheel.

First remove the steering wheel. The bottom part will then come off after removing the two screws. To get the top piece off you have to dismount and lift the dash.
