What LSD for me ?!?

My car is a 1987 E30 3.18i (Europe) and it has an open diff and a 4 speed manual (it sucks but you get used to it).My fuel economy is around 12lt/100km (it could be 10lt/100km if i had that 5th gear).
What kind of LSD could I fit into this car without doing real "damage" to my already poor economy ?!? Please shed some light into this matter...

I m about to change gearbox (pop in a 5-speed one) and I assume i ll save some money if I change the diff at the same time...

i think a 3.73LSD would do the trick... i know that they have an open 4.10 stock w/ the 5 speed, but if you want a little more fuel economy and don't mind sacrificing a little performance, it'd be a good choice

Sacrifice performance ?!? But its already poor !!! We re talking 105bhp !!!
Anyway,I really dont want something extreme...
Whats did the 3.18is had as standard ?!?

EDIT: btw... i suggested that one cuz you were talking about your fuel economy... and you can't increase fuel economy & performance at the same time... at least... not often ;)

Hm,I need to know things like :
1.Now I have an open diff but what are its specs ?
I m doing 100km/h in 4rth at 3500rpm (!).
2.If I use the 3.71LSD what will these numbers be ?!?
3.Same q for the 4.41 or the 4.45 !
Please help me or gimme some links cos I m lost...

Well,thats why i m going to get a 5 speed soon.
I have some more questions though.
1.Can I switch to a 5 speed manual and KEEP the openDiff the car has ?!?
2.Could I ONLY change the diff,fitting an LSD,WITHOUT getting the 5spped box ?!?

Screw fuel economy, throw in a 5 spd. and get the meanest diff you can find :P
My friend always complains about his 5.17 gearing and how it tops out in 4th gear (4spd tranny on his toyota). I told him leave it and get a 5 spd :P

pretty sure they made a 3.46... that or a 3.24 i think... help anyone...? that would be the next step up, but i dont think youll sacrafice too much, but if you know you will get a 5 speed, get a 3.73 or 4.10. The ride is night and day b/w my car w a 2.93, and my other wiht a 3.73.

Well,suppose I keep the 4 speed,would the 3.73 give the car more acceleration than the open diff I have now ?!? How could i possibly found out what can of an open diff my car has ?!? Is there a tag or anything I could look under the car ?!?
