What are you talking about? I am not sure what you are trying to remove.

The shifter itself sits in a 'ball coupler' inside the shift arm.

I think there is going to be a big whole there if you take out that rubber sleeve

the shifter lever. I was assuming that it wasnt stock, since every picture i have ever seen of a stock one is a lot skinner, and has notches on the top of it. and i have a stock shift knob and boot that wont fit over it either...

You can't remove it from inside the car. Look at realoem for a diagram of how it's put together.

ok, i guess i wasnt clear with my question.

i understand i cant remove the entire thing from inside. im not trying to remove the whole thing

But from what i took a picture of, Is that stock? im pretty sure it is not that fat stock... and it looks to me(but i could be wrong) that something was put over the stock piece for a new shift knob to fit.

my fault, thanks for the help

alright, after finding another picture on here, i am thinking that it is an oem piece. my fault.

the previous owner also made the same mistake i did and put a lot of pits into it with vice grips.

              waste of thread. whoops.
