There's been some discussion of converting a dual-mass flywheel equipped car with a single-mass flywheel.
I understood previously that all you needed for this swap was a Single Mass Flywheel, a Single Mass Clutch and Pressure Plate and the correct throw out bearing.
I was looking thru the clutch section of the Bentley today, and it said that the Dual-Mass flywheels use 22mm slave cylinders, whereas all others use 20mm slave cylinders. The master's are the same, but accoridng to this - the slaves are different depending on whether or not you have a dual or single mass flywheel.
I just purchased a new slave cylinder - whatever one is usually required for my car - so I'm afraid I may have the slave cylinder for a dual mass flywheel and not a single.
Sooo - I was posting this up to see if someone could set this straight for me. Did I misunderstand this - or is this true? Do I need to purchase another slave cylinder that's made the work with a single-mass?
Thanks!
