Terminal or pin or contact removal tools

It is pretty expensive to buy one at a time from Kablex/Stahlwille or actually from the dealer themselves...

    Um....

    Nevermind...just didn't look hard enough.

(horrified that a VW forum supplied the ultimate answer!)

I've made pin removal tools from the tubing of a portable radio's telescoping antenna.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

i bought a kit on ebay for about 20-30 bucks. not super complete, but has the most useful size that almost all the pins on our cars are.

A molex pin remover tool works just fine if you unscrew it since most the pins are longer than a standard molex pin

here is the one i bought

and they also have a bigger more complete set. i know for sure the smaller set has the right tool for the common size round connector found almost everywhere (example, door jam connectors).

That is badass! I have a spring loaded Molex tool, but single sized, so kinda worthless for BMW.

                    Same seller!

Not sure the link will work, but the guy sells it under "mercedes" as above..

                    Not sure why.

Matco sells same for over $200.

If I'd been willing to put up $5000, I could have bought g-d knows how may direct from China with "ABL Original Parts" emblazoned and had the case in the color of my choice I'm sure.

A company called Steelman makes a nice set too, but can't find any details on just what tools are included, and I believe its optimised for VW/Audi....not us.

Check the same seller for a wicked Radio removal tool set for all German cars... very trick, complete, and affodable... they also have a nice 32 mm fan wrench

                        Clarification

The above post is not for the 23 piece set.....

                        RS doesn't carry that one.

This S54 project is turning me into a tool-whore, I bet I have over $1000 invested in tools trying to make it come out perfect.... tho some are admittedly for the S50B32 project...

Addendum: Showed up today, came in an aluminum case afterall. Quality is "so so", but the selection is excellent, and tonight will try and see if it meets all the needs I have on some of the newer AMP/mini-timer plugs that the S54 project has on it...

                        Alex.
