    Bleeding the slave cylinder

One night after work I returned to my car only to find that my pedal had lost half its resistance. It was enough to make it home but the next day it was on the floor and my fluid level was way below normal.

Right now I'm trying to figure out whether or not my slave took a shit or the fluid just gradually dropped to low. Anyway I tried bleeding it like I would the brakes but it is not working.

Maybe I'm just doing it wrong, or my slave is dead. In any case I would like to see if I'm doing it properly. Please tell me how the correct way how one should bleed the slave cylinder.

Same way you would bleed brakes, keep the reservoir full, hold pedal down, open bleeder, close bleeder, pump and repeat.

Pull off the slave and see if it's wet under the rubber boot, if so replace it.
You may also have a bad clutch master too. Wouldn't hurt to replace them simultaneously.

Most likely if you lost fluid, the slave is leaking. I doubt bleeding will help.

sometimes youll need to remove the slave from the gearbox and bleed it by hand. ive had circumstances where thats the only way it would bleed out. be careful not to let it slip out of the bore
